All families should have an equal voice in shaping policies that affect their communities.

We lift up ways for poor and low-income families to make their voices heard:

  • Voting rights and access
  • Voter registration and Get Out The Vote (GOTV) campaigns
  • Community organizing
  • Collective action and advocacy
  • Movement building

We fight against policies and practices that stifle or take away their voices:

  • Voter suppression
  • Criminalization of poverty, migrants, and people of color
  • Mass incarceration
  • Restricted voting rights for reentering community members

With the power of equal voice, poor and low-income families can lead movements and bring about lasting change to improve the well-being of all families.
