New Orleans, LA
Since he started to volunteer with Families and Friends of Louisiana’s Incarcerated Children (FFLIC) four years ago, Ernest Johnson demonstrated such wisdom, patience, understanding and tenacity as a parent advocate that he joined the staff of FFLIC as a social justice activist. He uses his own life experiences to help other parents in the community navigate the court system and keep their children out of jail. He has a profound ability to connect with people across various barriers, including race, socio-economic status, and positions of power. He has experience speaking at conferences, on state and national campaigns, and in interviews with media representatives.
